Description

Your balance can be improved. Over time, our experience of balance changes. We often discover this development when we least expect it, walking downstairs with the laundry basket, going for a winter walk and discovering a patch of ice, or getting up too quickly. Why does this happen, and what can be done about it? Discussion and validation of these universal experiences will be explored. Learn practical tips and exercises to increase stability and confidence!

Facilitator: Patricia Barlow — Master of Arts in Social Gerontology, learning advocate for older adults.

Patricia graduated from McMaster University with a Master of Arts in Social Gerontology in November 2017. Patricia has over 20 years of experience working with older adults in the community facilitating fitness classes. She is a sometimes-writer, course facilitator and learning advocate for older adults.
